Touchstone Energy Cooperatives
Touchstone Energy is a nationwide alliance of locally owned and operated electric cooperatives, which can collectively provide enhanced services and resources to their residential and business consumers.
The idea of a brand identity and marketing umbrella for electric cooperatives was born in 1995, as a means of becoming more recognizable as the electric industry enters deregulation. The premise is simple: consumer-owned cooperatives working together, under a strict set of standards, to create an identity that differentiates them from competitors.
Adopting a brand allows cooperatives to retain their local name and presence, and yet be part of a national alliance.
The Touchstone Energy brand was unveiled to the public in 1998, and since then over 750 electric cooperatives have joined. Regardless of where people live, move to, or work, they can be assured Touchstone Energy Partners are proven energy providers. NREMC gains national recognition in “Best Practices” report
Northeastern REMC has earned high American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) scores over the years. In fact, NREMC’s rate of improvement in the ACSI since 2012 outpaces over 50 cooperatives nationally participating in the Touchstone Energy Services’ Member Satisfaction Tracking System. It scores higher than any investor owned utility in the nation and a full 9 points higher than the nearest IOU, American Electric Power, based on the ACSI Utility Report in 2014.
