Garden Beds and Volunteer Spirit Raised on United Way Day of Caring

A group of employees from Northeastern REMC recently joined the United Way of Whitley County’s Day of Caring for the largest volunteer event in Whitley County.

This annual event promotes the value of volunteerism, increases awareness of local non-profit organizations and helps bring people together to accomplish good work throughout the county. Working together with the local community is one of the many ways co-ops stand out among other organizations.

Northeastern REMC Prepares to Assist in Hurricane Dorian Recovery

[COLUMBIA CITY, IN] Northeastern REMC has sent crews and equipment to Florida to assist in Hurricane Dorian recovery efforts. The storm is expected to create widespread property and infrastructure damage throughout Florida and the southeastern part of the country.

Four lineworkers from Northeastern REMC, headquartered in Columbia City, joined a group of lineworkers from across the state late last night. These crews were deployed to assist the Central Florida Electric Cooperative with nearly 26,000 members and more than 4,200 miles of energized lines which is expected to be affected by the ever-changing path of this powerful hurricane.

Member Appreciation Night and Annual Meeting to be Held on September 7th

Saturday, September 7, promises to be one of the most unique Member Appreciation Nights we’ve ever had!

This year, during our Member Appreciation Night and Annual Meeting, be entertained by one of the most popular a capella groups in the country – VoicePlay. VoicePlay came onto the music scene when they were named a top finalist on NBC’s singing competition show – The Sing Off. Since their television debut the group has been performing their family-friendly, humor-filled shows to sell out crowds across the United States and abroad. 

Requirements changed for members wishing to fill position on NREMC’s board of directors

For any member wishing to become a member of Northeastern REMC’s Board of Directors, pre-qualifying requirements have changed.

Any member who wishes to represent the board district in which they live when that position becomes available will now have to secure a minimum of 35 signatures from fellow NREMC members living in the same district. They must also agree to submit a brief resume/description of their business experience and community involvement.
