Your Bill
Northeastern's
billing statements show a customer's historical data. The amount being
billed can be compared to usage from the prior two years. If requested,
customers with multiple accounts can have consolidated monthly electric
bills compiled on to one statement. Customers
are asked to note that Northeastern's return address is being printed
on the reverse side of the returned portion of the statement. This is
designed to show through the window of the return envelope being provided. On
most bills, a timely message will appear each month. We ask customers
to take the time to read these important notices. If
you have any questions regarding the bill format, please feel free to
contact Northeastern REMC at 244-6111 or 625-3700.
Q. What is the customer charge?
A
customer charge covers the cost of providing safe, reliable electric service
and does not vary with the amount of electricity you use. It covers the
cost of owning, maintaining and reading meters; processing and mailing
bills; maintaining equipment; and providing service programs and communication
services. It is the minimum amount you will be billed each month. All residential
customers are charged the same amount.

Q. Why are bills estimated?
Northeastern REMC will estimate monthly meter reads if inclement weather, such as dense fog, extreme cold, icy road conditions, or heavy snowfall could potentially endanger the safety of our meter readers. Each month we record over 26,000 meter readings. If weather conditions create even the slightest delay in a meter reader’s day, the total number of meters read that day could be affected. Any remaining unread meters would then be estimated on that particular day.
