Air Source Heat Pump
Are you looking for a comfortable and economical way to heat and cool your home? We've got a solution - the add-on heat pump! Regardless of whether you currently have an oil, gas, propane or electric furnace, an add-on heat pump will save you money each month.
How it works:
An add-on heat pump can save you money because it delivers more than three times the energy it uses. In winter, the add-on heat pump delivers more than three units of heat for every one unit of electricity it uses.
Adding an efficient heat pump to your existing furnace will make your fuel dollars go further. Your furnace works best when outside temperatures require it to be in near constant operation (usually below 30º F). During more moderate weather, the add-on heat pump reaches peak efficiency (usually above 30º F). At this temperature, the heat pump will automatically take over. With both units installed in your home, you will have a flexible, more efficient system.
Another appealing feature of an add-on heat pump is that it becomes a high-efficiency central air conditioning unit. In the summer, it automatically provides you with cool, dehumidified air all season long. If you are thinking of adding central air conditioning to your home, consider adding a heat pump instead!
Installation:
The add-on heat pump is easy to install. It can be added to most existing forced-air furnaces. The outside unit is located next to an exterior wall. The inside unit mounts onto your present furnace. With few modifications, the unit blows the warm or cool air through your existing ductwork. You do not have to remove your old furnace to reap the benefits of an add-on heat pump.
Rebate:
You will receive a $250 credit on your electric bill ($25 each month for ten months) when you install an add-on heat pump. Just have your installer contact Northeastern REMC and we will initiate your rebate.
