Northeastern REMC members are eligible to receive a Co-op Connections discount card.

As a member of Northeastern REMC, you are eligible to receive discounts on products and services from participating businesses around northeast Indiana. Northeastern has joined several other cooperatives across the country in promoting a nation-wide program – The Co-op Connections Card.

When you show your card or fob at businesses displaying the Co-op Connections decals and window stickers, you will receive their special offer just for being a member of our electric cooperative. The website will be updated weekly as new deals are added.

This card will also allow you to take advantage of discounts in other areas of the country, and with several national retail chains. A complete list of participants will be made available to you through the Touchstone Energy website listed below.

Everyone likes to save money, and Northeastern REMC wants to do all it can to make your life a little easier. There is no charge to you for this program – it is completely free. This is just one more way that we can show you that there is real value to being a member of Northeastern REMC!

Discounts, GPS now available through iPhone app.

The Co-op Connections Card app for the iPhone and iPod Touch now includes even more features.

"It now features all of the local deals. It's the full database of all the active deals within the Co-op Connections Card network," said Jason McGrade, Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives senior web development and social media specialist.

The app is available for the iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. It debuted with an alphabetized list of the more than 100 national deals available using the card. Along with adding the local deals, you can now search by category.

"In addition, we've added GPS feature, so that based on where your exact location happens to be, if you have the GPS turned on you'll be able to map deals in your immediate area," McGrade said. So if you're hungry, and looking for a bargain nearby, you're in luck.

"You can say, 'I want restaurants.' Click on the restaurants, and within that there will be another tab that says 'map it.' Select that option and it will bring up that categorical list within the mileage specified."

When you find an offer that you want to take advantage of, don't worry about finding a printer. "Just bring it to the retailer, show it to them, and you're all set," McGrade said, adding that merchants have been fine with looking at the card and the deal on a mobile device.

And if you want to keep the information for future use, McGrade said that's easy, too. "You can save that, so when you're offline you can still have the information available."

More savings for our members: Co-op Connections Card Program adds pharmacy discounts Read More Close [x]

A new program has been added to the very popular Co-op Connections Discount Card, that will save you money each time you need to have a prescription filled.

New cards have been produced and were distributed for the first time at our September 2007, Member Appreciation Night.

These cards and key fobs carry the member codes you need to take advantage of a new pharmacy discount program.

The pharmacy program entitles you to get 10 percent to 60 percent savings on most prescriptions at over 48,000 independent pharmacies and national chains including CVS, Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Target and more.  It's a powerful tool to help you deal with soaring prescription prices.

You can present your Co-op Connections card at any participating pharmacy and automatically receive discounts up to 60 percent on most of the prescriptions you need.  If you have other savings cards or insurance plans, your pharmacist can check to see which program offers you the best savings.  You can check discount prescription prices at www.rxpricequotes.com.

Members originally received their free Co-op Connections cards two years ago, offering savings at many local and national businesses.  There are thousands of locations around the country with savings offers.  They range from local florists to national hotel chains, from heating contractors to unique gift shops.

If you would like a new card featuring the pharmacy program, contact Mike DeFreeuw or call (260) 244-6111 or 625-3700.

If you haven't been carrying a card, put one in your billfold, purse, key chain or wherever you'll always have it when you spot a Co-op Connections savings opportunity!  Local businesses have stickers in their windows or at the cash register to remind you that they are participating in the program.

Everyday savings from your Co-op Connections card... further proof that being a member of an electric cooperative has real value!
