Safety Programs:
Louie the Lightning Bug Program
(Preschool through second grade):

Northeastern REMC offers the "Louie the Lightning Bug" program to schools and groups in our service area. This program provides an entertaining and fun agenda for children in preschool through second grade. The length of the program is flexible, ranging from 20 to 30 minutes depending on your allocation of time. Coloring books and stickers will be given out to all children.

A ten-minute animated video will be shown, and "Louie the Lightning Bug" will make a live appearance for all grades. Electrical safety will be addressed and will include: flying kites, safety inside and outside the home, storms, etc.

Live Line Safety Demonstration
(Third grade and up):

Northeastern’s Live Line table top display demonstrates electrical safety in and around the home. Topics such as how electricity is made, where it comes from, and how it works are addressed in the presentation. This is an interactive presentation and normally ranges from 45 minutes to one hour. Questions from the students are welcome.

Call Northeastern to set up Live Line demonstrations or a visit from "Louie" for your school or group, or email us.
